This paper proposes a hybrid quantum key distribution (QKD)-based framework for secure enterprise communication using post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and smart cards. It argues for combining classical and quantum-resistant algorithms to establish secure channels, uses point-to-point QKD links to establish shared secrets, and applies smart cards for authentication and key synchronization. The work positions the framework as a practical and cost-effective way to secure enterprise communications while reviewing related QKD and PQC literature.
